The kits are part of the KRYDDA/VÄXER series, and were developed with the help of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. [1]

Three Michigan officials were charged last Wednesday for their roles in the Flint water crisis. The charges were announced just a day after a federal judge tossed out a $150 million class action lawsuit over the lead-contaminated water, saying the courts lacked jurisdiction.

In the wake of the Flint water crisis, two more deaths from Legionnaires’ disease have been confirmed, bringing the total up from 10 to 12. In 2014 and 2015, the state found 91 cases of this illness. It is believed that at least half of the cases are associated with the recent water crisis, though at this time they are still uncertain. [1] [2]
Eden Wells, M.D., Chief Medical Executive with the MDHHS, said:

The United Nations is becoming all too familiar with Michigan.  First, they learned of rampant water shut-offs affecting 40% of Detroit’s residents last year.  They will soon be informed of the plight of Flint, Michigan.  For nearly two years, Flint residents were forced to drink, cook and bathe in putrid, toxic water.

A new song by Time.  Chris Time Steele made this song called Flint State of Mind in solidarity with the people of Flint and dedicated it to the Flint Democracy Defense League and Water You Fighting For, and all the other groups fighting for justice.

On Jan 31st, I followed Zekerullah, an Afghan Peace Volunteer who coordinates the Borderfree Street Kids School in Kabul, to visit Zuhair and his family in their rented room. Zuhair attends the School on Fridays with 92 other working and street kids, a minuscule number in the context of 6 million working children in Afghanistan. My heart squirmed at the unequal math of today’s economics.
