Every day, and in every way, the commercial life of the city is a tribute to the value people can offer each other regardless of race, which is to say, very simply, that people get along just fine so long as the politicians and the state stay out of it. We have a long history of racial division precisely because we haven’t always chosen the path of peace and commerce. We have chosen that path today, not perfectly but largely, and the beautiful results are all around us.

Two Years On, Bolivia’s President Says No Regrets Over Expelling DEA

President Evo Morales recalled today that the expulsion of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency and the U.S. military base allowed Bolivia to recover economic and political sovereignty.
“I do not regret the decision about the DEA and the military base,” the president said in a public ceremony marking the 47th anniversary of the municipality of Villa Tunari, in the central region of Cochabamba.

The Imprisonment of Ross Ulbricht, Two Years Later

Ulbricht’s family and many cryptocurrency enthusiasts were quite surprised that Ulbricht received two life sentences for all non-violent charges on May 29, 2015. Currently, Ulbricht is appealing his sentence, along with his convictions so he can once again be a free man some day.
