The picture NY Times in-house conservative, David Brooks, conjured up of Ted Cruz is truly ugly. It's hard to imagine anyone reading it and accepting Brooks' reporting and then ever vote for Cruz for anything, let along president. What a horrible, horrible person, the antithesis of all of the teachings of Jesus rolled up into one sad, desperate little man, driven crazy by a psychotic father and with an innate need to dominate others.

FACT: Every country and government on the face of the Earth, every political party and inclination, every administration and President and Congress, all want more than anything to disarm its people and remove their ability to resist tyranny.

Ted Cruz has a scaremongery anti-immigration TV ad (above) to compete with Herr Trumpf's scaremongery anti-immigration TV ad. The competition for the right-wing populist vote is on. Fiorina, now one of the margin-of-error candidates hoping to get a job in someone's cabinet-- though not Herr Trumpf's, apparently-- was asked on Fox and Friends about the new Esquire cover story, Hater-in-Chief.

Rubio's excuse for abandoning his Senate seat while running for president-- which is not what fellow Senators Rand Paul, Ted Cruz or Bernie Sanders have done-- is that mere senators and congressmen can't get anything done anyway. I suspect most of his colleagues would beg to differ. What he's done is kind of similar to what Chris Christie did by spending 72% of his time outside of New Jersey.

Crystal Sugar Company CEO, David Berg, isn’t having huge success in the sugar business lately. Though sugar prices remain high, his company and others face ‘serious roadblocks’ due to the anti-GMO movement (aka demand for Non-GM) and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who wants to dispose of government assistance to sugar.

Greg Sargent's headline in today's Washington Post shocked me. It's completely accurate and totally precise but I had never seen the word "darkies" in a Post headline before. Herr Trumpf sure has done strange things to our country. Sargent says Trumpf's dark propaganda piece makes crystal clear how the fear-mongering demagogue wants to make America "great" again-- by making it white again-- and by keeping the darkies out.

There will be 2,470 delegates to the Republican National Convention in Cleveland and the number ti win the magic Republican nomination is 1,236 (50% +1). The first 4 races, all next month, that everyone talks about-- Iowa (30 delegates), New Hampshire (30), South Carolina (50) and Nevada (30)-- will decide 140 delegates split up between several candidates.

Something that's been circulating on the fringes of the political right, a new plan to undermine progressive accomplishments-- everything from consumer protections, health care, safe air and water, marriage equality... you name it-- is a crackpot scheme, called Convention of States to rewrite the Constitution. Someone told Marco Rubio about it and he endorsed it yesterday, hoping that can help him win over extremists in Iowa next month.
