Jon talked about the recent spate of politicians and media figures invoking 9/11 and the “Never Forget” mantra to score political points. LONDON — A new report financed by the U.S. government on the state of South Sudan’s civil war has found that the conflict has resulted in the deaths of nearly 400,000 people since it began five years ago, indicating that past statistics had severely underestimated the death toll.
