We Are under the Foot of the Gangrenous Monster

It’s brutal how ignorant we have become, or maybe always have been. Talking to the great American sucking sound – gushers loving every rotten multimillionaire musician, actor, athlete, two bit hustler, any dumb-downing Beyonce half-time crap, and yet, oh yes, daily these people sing that song of colonized capitalists, thinking and believing every billionaire and millionaire up close and personal on TV, TED-x, in the headlines, is a friend.

Educating because Our Lives and Futures Are in the Balance

Yes. I think that what is more important in Mexico is education. It’s for the children to be able to go to school. Of course, hunger is also a very big problem. But the one that really, really, really for me is very painful is education. And there’s very little money spent on education, on good teachers, on schools, on even rooms where children can go and work. And I think this is the worst problem in Mexico that has to be taken care of. And it has not been taken care of. I remember when I came to Mexico as a little girl, I loved my teacher, La Seño Velázquez.

A Message of Hope for the New Year

Kevin Zeese has long amazed me because of the number of things he does to make a better world. Mondays he does a radio program with Margaret Flowers called Clearing the FOG, which is one of the best alternative programs in the world, informing people of what is happening beyond the narrow scope of the corporate media.
Months before the Occupy Movement began, he was organizing activists in the City of Washington to occupy Freedom Plaza there.

Neither Washington Nor Stowe

As Vermonters we are perhaps the most weather conscious people in North America. We feel the winter winds through the drafts of old farm houses, smell the melting snow when collecting our sap buckets, hear the birds of summer while tending our farms and gardens, and see the beauty of fall written across the hills in oranges, reds, and yellows. Many of us still work with our hands, be it as loggers, farmers, carpenters, midwives, or crafts-people.
