When Chinese President Xi Jinping meets with US President Donald Trump on Thursday it couldn’t be more of a conference of polar opposites.
But opposites attract and in the next few months the two global superpowers are going to need each other more than ever If they are going to peacefully resolve the crisis in the Korean Peninsula.

Three years ago, Syria was declared free of chemical weapons under an agreement proposed by Russia which forestalled an expected attack on Syria led by the United States.
This came after a massive propaganda campaign in western media alleging a devastating sarin gas attack near Ghouta, Syria, which is reported to have killed thousands. The attack was blamed on Syrian president Assad, with the small amount of substantiating evidence provided by Israel.

CONFIRMED: Rex Tillerson to visit Moscow next week

The Russian Foreign Ministry and US State Department have both confirmed that Rex Tillerson is to have talks with Sergei Lavrov on the 11th and 12th of April in Moscow.
This will be Tillerson’s first visit to Moscow since becoming Secretary of State under President Trump, although Tillerson is familiar with Moscow and has previously spoken with President Putin in his capacity as a businessman.
It is not yet clear whether Tillerson will meet with Putin, though the possibility remains open.
