Mr. Card reportedly threatened to shoot up his military post but received only 2 weeks of psychiatric hospitalization prior to his release, which begs the question of why the treatment was so short. The shooting event was reported by some media outlets days before it occurred. 

Gun researcher John Lott said that Red Flag laws appear to have had "no significant effect on murder, suicide, the number of people killed in mass public shootings, robbery, aggravated assault or burglary."

On Sunday, Republican Senator Pat Toomey from Pennsylvania went on CBS's "Face the Nation" to promote gun control and said he's hopeful that "at least half" of GOP senators will support new restrictions.

Santa Clara County is forming what they call a “county gun team” – a unit of lawyers, analysts, and prosecutors authorized to seek out and confiscate firearms from those the state feels shouldn’t have them.

Donnelly claimed the posts, including fantasies of hurting women, were jokes meant for his friends. He has no criminal record, and his lawyer described the weapons seizure as an intrusion on both his First Amendment and Second Amendment rights.

California adopted a controversial 'red flag' gun-confiscation law that expands an existing law that allows law-enforcement and family members to initiate a process to temporarily confiscate citizens' firearms. The new law adds co-workers, employers, and teachers to the list.

Democrats want to remove guns and ammunition from individuals deemed as dangerous by any anonymous, unaccountable person, but it would not include the already existing lists of violent gang members. This is further evidence that Congress has no interest in reducing violence in America.

Trump directed the DOJ to propose legislation so that those who commit 'hate' crimes and mass murders face the death penalty, swiftly. [Yes, Trump said all of this - including the death penalty for an alleged hate crime. Hillary could not have said it better.]
