Holy Jesus! (And if you know me, you know how respectfully I mean that.) I just watched the new Randy Bryce video. I've never seen a campaign video anything like it. There's not even a photo-- let a lone a mention-- of Bryce or a clue it's a campaign video until about 3:20 minutes into this 3:54 minute video. In fact, I don't think Bryce's name is never mentioned. I guess this is the closest this tragic poem about the opioid crisis comes:

While the DCCC (+ EMILY's List and the Republican billionaires funding No Labels) are busy making sure conservative, status quo Democrats prevail in primaries, stalwart progressives are offering hope to voters by offering new programs that will never be passed, largely because even with a big Democratic majority in the House, too many of them will always oppose anything they sense is "too progressive." Take, for example, Elizabeth Warren's just-introduced Anti-Corruption and Public Integrity Act.

Randy Bryce has been very positive during the primary, presumably because his opponent was a fellow Democrat. Now's the time to start playing little hard ball, which the Republicans have already done. This week I noticed that the DCCC-- which I don't ever expect much from-- have gone to bat for Randy. "Lyin' Bryan" refers to Bryan Steil, Paul Ryan clone who was handpicked by Ryan to try to beat Randy in November.

Tuesday's primaries in Connecticut, Vermont, Wisconsin and Minnesota added up to a very good day for Democrats and for progressives up and down the ballots. In every state and in every contested congressional election, far more votes were cast in Democratic races than in Republican races.

A great night for progressives and reformers Yesterday Nate Silver said that "In races where insurgent, progressive Democrats are running against party-backed nominees ... the establishment Democrat is winning 89% of the time." If not so sure about definitions that make that even remotely true. And it certainly wasn't true last night. I'll give you two examples.

Today, voters are at the polls in Vermont, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Connecticut. (In 2 weeks, on August 28, Florida and Arizona.) The most important state to watch-- and to vote in-- today is Wisconsin. Most of the contested primaries are on the Republican side. The Republicans hope to take on U.S.
