Yesterday we took a look at some of the prospective 2020 Democratic congressional primaries in New York City, based on a NY Times piece by Shane Goldmacher. I promised to finish up today with a look at the two possible Long Island primaries. I'll describe both.

Blue America has backed ever progressive primary challenger to conservative Democrats since we got started.

Would you call this a safe blue district? Obama beat McCain here 58-41% and then eviscerated Romney 60.3-38.7%. In 2016 even Hillary scored big-- 58.3% to 38.5%. TX-28 is just 15.9% white and just around 25% rural.

Blue America loves a good primary battle against a stinking incumbent-- and we've been involved with them when other Democrat groups were still looking askance at them... as though incumbents somehow "owned" the seats they were representing and and primary was an affront.

Sit in at his office didn't prevent Costa from voting with the GOP for TPPI'm not being coy-- you know me better than that-- and I wish I could remember her name, but I can't even remember for sure if I heard her on the radio while I was driving or on TV in the next room while I was working. She truly exemplifies everything wrong with unlicensed political punditry.

One New Dem leader down, another one to goI just got back from a post-election rest in Istanbul. On Saturday I was still there and I dashed off a post about how Blue America is going about looking for 2020 congressional recruits. That generated a ton of e-mails like this one [in part] from Melissa in Houston:

Cuomo won but time is up for his IDC alliesCuomo's establishment Dems won across the board at the top of the ticket in New York yesterday-- he, himself (the avatar for corruption), Kathy Hochul (a hair away from being a Republican), and Letitia James (his hand-picked candidate, chosen to keep his criminal activities as governor from being investigated by Zephyr Teachout). Cuomo won with 975,552 votes (65.6%) against Cynthia Nixon (34.4%).

There aren't many primaries left this cycle-- Massachusetts today, Delaware Thursday, New Hampshire a week from today, Rhode Island a week from tomorrow and Louisiana on election day in November (don't ask).
