And the RealClearPolitics polling averages are starting to, ever so slightly, slip for Biden. His national polling peak was on May 8 when he hit 41.4. A week later it started a downward trend. By May 22, he was at 34.7%, still way ahead of anyone else.
The last time we looked at Ted Lieu's infrastructure legislation there were 33 co-sponsors. That was back at the end of May when he introduced it-- HCR 63-- "Supporting efforts to enact a bold jobs and infrastructure package that benefits all Americans, not just billionaires." Now there are 85 co-sponsors-- including, not just the progressives who backed Lieu's plan originally, but even some of the most reactionary Democrats in Congress.
Rich, spoiled Republican-masquerading-as-a-Democrat Patrick Murphy turned 33 today. His wealthy Republican daddy bought the ne'er-do-well Patrick a political career. One of America's least effective members of Congress is also on the take.
Maryand's 4th Congressional District is as blue as they come. The PVI is D+26 and Obama beat McCain 77-22% and four years later beat Romney 78-21%. The current congresswoman, Donna Edwards, has one of the best records on Capitol Hill and last year the district's voters gave her 70% of the vote. She won 77% of the vote in the last presidential year, beating out the other 7 Maryland incumbents. But with Donna running for the U.S.
This morning, Brian Schatz added another grassroots progressive group to his growing list of endorsers. The PCCC came out strongly in favor of Schatz's campaign after their local members voted 4 to 1 in favor of the organization endorsing Brian over New Dem Colleen Hanabusa. They cited Social Security as the "defining issue" in the race and in their decision.
