23% of registered voters in California's 15th Assembly district declined to state a party preference. 66% are Democrats. 6% are Republicans. Most of the district is Berkeley, Richmond and Oakland, along with smaller communities like Albany, Emeryville, Piedmont, El Cerrito, Hercules, Pinole, San Pablo, El Sobrante and Kensington. Trump managed to pull 7% of the vote there. The demographic make-up is a great mix:

Oakland, CA – Oakland is beginning an experiment that can be considered both laudable and questionable. As cannabis businesses are set to spring up across the city, following California’s legalization of recreational cannabis, Oakland is providing reparations to victims of the drug war.

Oakland’s former police chief tried for six months to muzzle allegations that multiple officers sexually exploited an underage girl, and encouraged his department to drop its internal probe of the misconduct, according to a report released Wednesday by a court-appointed monitor.

A California cop got drunk and went to a random couple’s house, thinking he was at the home of a fellow officer throwing a party.
But Oakland police Cullen Faeth ended up arrested on home invasion charges when he attacked the house’s occupants, knocking the woman to the ground and kicking her husband several times.
While the rookie cop was attacking the couple, another cop who has not been identified ran out from the couple’s backyard while pretending to hold a gun underneath his shirt before running away.

Kristine Madsen and her colleagues surveyed people in low-income communities before and after the tax was voted for in 2014, making Berkeley the first California city to impose a 1 cent-per-ounce tax on sugary drinks. [1]

Well this time the allegations involve five uniformed police officers and an underage prostitute who happens to be the daughter of a police dispatcher.
