Bronx Woman Accuses NYPD Of ‘Scorching’ Her Son To Death

BRONX, N.Y. — Though officers chalked his death up to a seizure during a drug arrest, a Bronx mother claims in court that her son died after being left handcuffed in a police van with the heat cranked up.
Johnathan Jennings, 19, died on the early morning of March 31, 2016, after the New York City Police Department busted into his home on suspicion of marijuana and cocaine possession.

A federal court in the United States has rejected a civil rights lawsuit challenging the New York Police Department’s spying activities against Muslims.
On Thursday, the court in Newark in the state of New Jersey ruled that the plaintiffs had failed to show that the NYPD’s intelligence unit had discriminated against Muslims by spying on mosques and other locations in New Jersey.
