I wonder how Rex Tillerson feels about being the first high-level federal official to be fired publically and online, in one brutal tweet. I’m sure he expected the hammer to come down on him, but not like that. And I wonder if he will come forward to describe what led up to it. Unlikely, as he’s an extremely wealthy and still influential corporate player who would have little to gain from telling all. Still, some intrepid journalist should take Rex to lunch and encourage him to cry in his beer.

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump announced that he had fired his Secretary of State Rex Tillerson who would now be replaced by CIA Director Mike Pompeo.
Tillerson was informed of his sacking while on a State Department tour of Africa.

Trump then tweeted out that he would be nominating Gina Haspel to replace Pompeo as his new CIA director. If confirmed, Haspel would be the first woman ever to serve at the helm of the US Central Intelligence Agency.

The United States’ new Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo is swamp creature of the highest order…and a former CIA Director.
