Roland and I were wandering around south-central Mali a few years ago, taking it in, meeting the folks. Alan Grayson had recommended Bandiagara and Sangha as a couple of off-the-beaten-track places east of Mopti and north of the border with Burkina Faso. In one of those towns Roland found a goat and its kid. The mother goat was freaking out because they were separating her from the kid and it looked like she knew the kid was headed for the stew pot.

STUDY: Ukrainian media among least trustworthy in the world

A recent study by the American Center for the Study of Public Opinion has found that Ukrainian media is in the bottom five countries in the world when it comes to being trusted by its own population.
The study found that Mauritania had the least trust in its media followed by the Democratic Republic of Congo and then South Sudan. Tied at fourth place were Gabon and Ukraine.
These results will surprise no one who has studied recent developments in Ukrainian media.
