Canada Moves To Legalize Recreational Marijuana

Canada officially moved to legalize recreational marijuana on Thursday when the government introduced legislation allowing the possession of small amounts of cannabis. The new law also sets regulations for the sale, growth, and purchase of the plant.

John Oliver Vs Jefferson Beauregard Sessions-- The Marijuana Chronicles

Sunday night, John Oliver took on the attempts by Trumpist Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, to reinvigorate the War on Drugs. The segment (above) is worth watching in its entirety. Oliver, if course, is hilarious-- but Sessions isn't. Recently Sessions took another patently absurd shot at the marijuana industry, this time, though, it was directly aimed at Medical Marijuana, which even Trump acknowledges is a fact of life he doesn't want to make a fuss over. Colorado Takes Preemptive Action Against Impending Federal Marijuana Crackdown

DENVER  — Colorado is considering an unusual strategy to protect its nascent marijuana industry from a potential federal crackdown, even at the expense of hundreds of millions of dollars in tax collections.
A bill pending in the Legislature would allow pot growers and retailers to reclassify their recreational pot as medical pot if a change in federal law or enforcement occurs.
