A bit of positivity to start off the month of September. While visiting the areas devastated by Hurricane Laura last week, President Trump spent some time with first responders from Lake Charles. His interaction with the men was Trump as he has always been. Not one to act “presidential” but rather, being the everyman who happens to be elected president of this nation is a great sign that he is truly with the American people as one of us.

We are supposed to be thinking this week about the health disparities in the United States based on race and ethnicity, since the New York Times, Washington Post, National Public Radio, and even USA Today are going on about it. This is the hot topic presumably because of a recent analysis of the demographics of COVID-19 deaths by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Louisiana is a deep red state, although they elected a fairly conservative centrist Democrat, John Bel Edwards, governor-- twice. In 2016 the state went for Trump over Hillary 1,178,004 (58.1%) to 779,535 (38.4%). She took 10 of the state's 64 parishes-- basically the black vote and nothing more.
