With the US facing internal state crisis, symbolized by recent protests against arbitrary violence and cruelty by militarized police in places like Ferguson, Missouri, it would be wise draw upon the counsel of veterans of the US civil rights struggle like Charles E. Cobb, Jr. With this in mind, his book This Nonviolent Stuff’ll Get You Killed (2014) is an excellent place to start. It is also especially relevant due to the prominence of the Second Amendment in recent US political discourse.

US – Part One
You’ve probably heard that a nine year-old girl just killed her gun instructor, Charles Vacca, with an Israeli Uzi sub-machine gun the Zionists use to kill Palestinians and other Arabs. We all know that US Americans are crazy about their guns but, really, a nine-year girl in pink shorts and pink earmuffs taking gun lessons in the Mojave Desert in Arizona?

While the Governor of Missouri is sending in the National Guard to Ferguson, it is worth considering where the real violence is coming from.

We have become blasé about fearsome media images. One such image is police in SWAT gear, assault weapons trained on peaceful demonstrators, and huge armored vehicles with gun turrets at the ready, pointed toward activists. In tiny Ferguson, Missouri, peaceful citizens reacting to the alleged killing of a young, unarmed black teenager by a local police officer, are the enemies, the apparent target of militarized weapons.
What is the outgrowth of such scenes? Most likely, further polarization and thick tension among citizens.
