Black people account for 60% of all firearm homicides yet make up 14% of the population. In the 18-to-24 age group, Black people had a firearm mortality rate of 58.78 per 100,000 people, compared with 3.1 per 100,000 for White people.

Law Enforcement Officer deaths by firearm are down slightly through May 20th, as compared to this time last year. In 2016, according to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF), 18 officers were killed by firearms.
So far this year, only 17 officers have been killed by firearms.

(REPORT) — The United States Congress voted on Wednesday to block a gun regulation that would prevent thousands of people with mental disabilities from purchasing weapons. Passed by the Republican-led house, the legislation will now be sent to President Donald Trump.
