The thing I like about Steve Forbes (I call him Steve) is that he’s inherited a lot of money and, although he looks funny, he sure can pick winners. Along with the magazine that has borne his family’s name (or vice-versa) since 1917, he’s been a kingmaker as well as a prophet, despite the fact that, as Yogi Berra once put it, “predicting is difficult, especially about the future.” A marginally unsuccessful Presidential candidate himself, Steve knows all about Presidents and their problems.

KABUL — The fire in the Chaman e Babrak camp began in Nadiai’s home shortly after noon. She had rushed her son, who had a severe chest infection, to the hospital. She did not know that a gas bottle, used for warmth, was leaking; when the gas connected with a wood burning stove, flames engulfed the mud hut in which they lived and extended to adjacent homes, swiftly rendering nine extended families homeless and destitute in the midst of already astounding poverty.

The night before he was Accused,  The Not-Yet-Accused lay awake, troubled by thoughts.  His Sunday night routine. The Wife slept soundly. Three men in a boat. Large lake, peaceful.  The men spoke softly, each phrase stretched loose by long,  slow diphthongs of The Nation’s South. It was early morning, where they were.  Foamy tongues of water lapped the boat-side.  Seductively.  Rhythmically.

Why has this not made national headlines??? The Aircraft Carrier Ronald Reagan is nuclear powered. Radiation detection equipment did not pick up on this?? Why have these sailors and marines medical records been removed from permanent tracking. Criminal implications galore. This should be all over mainstream media. Someone please forward all these ene reports to the media…. Tepco is the lowest of snakes. Hari Kari for the lot of em!!

If the end of the world hasn’t started yet, maybe it will start soon

Will Supertyphoon Haiyan serve as a wake-up call for Canadians? Will people connect the dots between Harper’s climate crimes and the death and destruction caused by the most powerful storm ever recorded?
