The Dictatorship of the Lawyers

Let’s start with some stats. The District of Columbia has the densest concentration of lawyers in the world. If you factor in the fact that 88% of lawyers are white and 60% of the capital’s population are minorities, you end up with some really mind warping numbers.
The population of the District is 672,000 (2015 census) and the number of households is slightly over 250,000. With 52,000 lawyers running around – it means that you can find a lawyer by randomly knocking on five doors. If you happen to be looking for a lawyer in Georgetown, a couple of knocks should do the trick.

Remembering UN and Canadian Role in Deposing and Assassination of Patrice Lumumba

56 years ago today the United Nations launched a peacekeeping force that contributed to one of the worst post-independence imperial crimes in Africa. The Organisation des Nations Unies au Congo (ONUC) delivered a major blow to Congolese aspirations by undermining elected Prime Minister Patrice Lumumba. Canada played a significant role in ONUC and Lumumba’s assassination, which should be studied by progressives demanding Ottawa increase its participation in UN “peacekeeping”.

LIONEL PODCAST: Black Lives Matter Is a Radical Terror Hate Group and a Blatant Con

“Assata taught me.” The cited and oft-referenced inspiration behind the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement – the individual cited as its guru, maharishi and founder and regularly quoted by its supporters – is a convicted cop killer who is on the FBI’s Most Wanted Terrorists list. Pay particular note, this is critical.

Talk About a Day of Infamy!

A sad day.  A disgraceful day.  The Fourth was probably pretty bad in terms of hypocrisy.  I can only imagine.  I don’t live there any more.  But today (now yesterday – I thought it better not to vent my immediate and utter frustration), when I read that FBI director Comey decided that the investigation into la Clinton’s DoS document affair didn’t warrant an indictment. I was speechless.  I stared at the face of that cackling hyena and knew I was looking at the face of pure Evil.

Forget “Pleading the 5th”!

(1) Dear Judge: I didn’t mean to go 100 miles per hour over the speed limit thru the work zone!  I’m just a 50-year old kid who grew up suffering from Affluenza!  I was just trying out my shiny new Lotus and I really didn’t mean to hit those 6 “innocent” pedestrians and send them flying!  I was just being extremely careless!
2) Dear Teacher: I didn’t mean to let my dog eat my homework!  (And I’m sure Rover didn’t mean to barf all over the living room carpet!) I can forgive Rover, the FBI can forgive Hillary, so I’m sure you can forgive me! I was just being extremely careless!

Occupy Wilmington Not Wall Street

James Li has been on the run for eight years. His crime? Forging fake purchase orders to inflate his company’s sales and dumping 93 million worthless shares on the market.
How much did James Li and his partners take in? Over a billion dollars. Where is James Li now? You can find him but you can’t catch him. He was last seen in Taiwan but can’t be extradited and, in any case, the Attorney General never bothered to charge him with forgery.

LIONEL PODCAST: America – Conceived in Conspiracy, Born in Revolution, Brexit in Reverse

Mr. Vidal said it best. And as our beloved republic celebrates the 240th anniversary of this exquisite laboratory experiment in liberty and as Hillary Clinton emerges from a “voluntary” discussion with FBI agents as to her various server and email derring-do and as we contemplate November and the worst possible offering of candidates in the history of our motherland, let us remember Gore Vidal.

My Evolving Disenchantment with Capitalism

Like many undergraduate students who came from a working class background I went through a stage wherein I adopted many of the values espoused by my “left” leaning professors. I have to admit I was also profoundly influenced by a book titled Sweden: the Middle Way by Marquis Childs that was touted to be the way of the future by many leading intellectuals in the academic world.
