Lately, Florida passes a new record in COVID cases every day. Gov. DeSantis didn't manufacture the coronavirus, but his foolish, backward, ideological policies guaranteed that Florida would be one of the worst hotspots on the planet. On Friday the state reported 3,822 new cases-- the second most after Texas-- and yesterday Florida reported 4,049 new cases. Friday there were 4,179 cases per million people.

Later-- after the CNN appearance above-- on Fox News Sunday, Cornel West said "What we’re seeing here is the ways in which the vicious legacy of white supremacy manifests in organized hatred, greed and corruption. We’re witnessing the collapse of the legitimacy of leadership, the political class, the economic class, the professional class, that’s the deeper crisis... The beautiful thing is we’re seeing citizens who are caring and concerned hitting the streets.

Is the official U.S. government policy towards the pandemic reflected by the White House guidelines-- or by Trump's misleading, sociopathic twitter feed? They are often on opposite sides of the fence. And that's not even the stuff that Fauci says that contradicts Trump's ranting and raving.

The state's congressional delegation consists of two establishment Democrats-- one in St. Louis and one in Kansas City-- and 6 entrenched right-wing Republicans.

Fox nailed it! Wave II is going to be humongous-- mostly because of Trump's inability to cope with the pandemic... but also because of governors' inability to cope with Trump and his supporters.
