(ANTIWAR.COM) Reports of civilian deaths in US airstrikes in Western Mosul appear to be once again soaring out of control, as indications of just over a dozen civilians slain has turned into in a flurry of airstrikes targeting ISIS-held neighborhoods in the Old City.

(ANTIWAR.COM) Just a day after they bombed a village in the Mayadeen area, near the ISIS capital of Raqqa, US warplanes launched yet more airstrikes, and once again the indications out of the area is that everyone slain in the attacks was a civilian, bringing the two-day toll in excess of 50.
(MEE) A US strike targeting Islamic State fighters in a Mosul building in Iraq in March killed at least 105 civilians when the blast caused IS weapons to explode, a US general said on Thursday.
(ANTIWAR.COM) According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, US coalition airstrikes attacked the village of al-Barouda on Tuesday, killing at least 16 civilians, including five children, and wounding a large number of others.
(MEE) The number of civilians killed in air strikes by the US-led coalition in Syria over the past month was the highest monthly toll since it began its campaign against the Islamic State (IS) group in 2014, a monitoring organization said on Tuesday.

(ANTIWAR.COM) While the US has presented the area north of the ISIS capital of Raqqa as virtually all “liberated” by Kurdish forces, that doesn’t mean US warplanes aren’t still launching airstrikes against the villages in the region, often with horrific results.
Accounts from witnesses and survivors cast doubt on American suggestions that the Islamic State group was to blame for the deaths of more than 100 people taking refuge in a house hit by a U.S. airstrike earlier this year in Mosul, the deadliest single incident of the months-long campaign to retake the Iraqi city.
U.S. officials said soon after the March 17 strike that investigations could find that militants forced people into the building, booby-trapped it with explosives, then lured in the strike.
