It is official, Britain has gone bonkers.
Britain has over the last few decades transformed from a powerful maritime empire, to a post-imperial regional power which gave the world The Beatles, cool but unreliable cars, Prog Rock and then Punk Rock, to becoming something of a de-facto 51st state of the US, and now to something terribly odd.
I can remember a time, not so long ago, when the well-known figure, Donald Trump was remembered for frequent appearances on the US talk show circuit, endorsing various celebrity brands, selling pizza, mattresses, poor quality vodka, and his signature brand of steaks. I remember too when he hosted the Apprentice and made ‘you’re fired’ a household phrase.
Following the eruption of accusations against the US intelligence community at Donald Trump’s press conference on Wednesday, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper has met with him to try to limit the damage, and in order assure Trump of his “dismay” that the Trump Dossier was leaked and that the US intelligence community was not responsible for it.
Disclosure that the author of the ‘Trump Dossier’ is a former British intelligence agent comes just days after media reports circulated that it was British intelligence that first alerted US intelligence in October 2015 of Russia’s supposed interference in the US Presidential election on behalf of Donald Trump.
This in turn begs the question of what if any role Britain has had in the whole scandal?
Whilst stories of Russian interference in the US Presidential election have dominated the US and British media for months despite being wholly unsupported by factual evidence, factual evidence of Israeli interference in British politics is going largely unreported.

British Defense Secretary Sir Michael Fallon today announced, and Saudi Arabia formally confirmed, that the Saudi military has been dropping British-made cluster munitions on Yemen over the course of their 20 month war in Yemen.
