Nolan’s Batman Begins – In 2005, Christopher Nolan rebooted the Batman movies, full of occult imagery depicting the interplay of secret societies and billionaire capitalists as played out against the gothic noir landscape of Gotham City. It is also the tale of our protagonist learning to use fear as a means of changing the […]

What I Learned Last Night

In 1879, Fyodor Dostoevsky, gave us "The Grand Inquisitor"-- a poem within The Brothers Karamazov-- widely considered one of the greatest pieces of literature in history. This week, James Inman wrote "If Jesus came back today and saw Notre Dame he'd say, 'Fuck your church. What is this stained glass bullshit? Back in my day we worshipped God out in a field. Trump Accuses China Of Intellectual Property Theft... While He Applauds His Own Campaign's Intellectual Property Theft

Politicians on both sides of the aisle beat up China for stealing American intellectual property-- in other words, using it without paying for it. Trump has been particularly vocal about it. Porkins Policy Radio episode 171 Ryan Carey on Nick Drnaso’s Sabrina

Ryan Carey joins me this week for an in-depth discussion of Nick Drnaso’s latest comic Sabrina. We started off the conversation on a totally unrelated matter and discussed the recent reporting on former CIA operative turned Batman writer, Tom King. We then shifted back Sabrina and the way it captures the bleak reality that so many of us find ourselves enmeshed in. Ryan and I discuss the books plot which revolves around the murder of a young woman named Sabrina, how two friends Teddy and Calvin deal with it, and the role that conspiracy theory plays throughout.

Porkins Policy Radio episode 114 Nazi Captain America with Ryan Carey

Ryan Carey joins me once again to explore the strange world of comic books. We begin by looking at freelance comic writer Nick Spencer and his Nazi Captain America story-line. Ryan gives us an overview of Spencer’s reboot which has Captain America as a secret Nazi working for the evil “Hydra” since the very beginning, the Nazi’s winning the war, and good old Cap bringing about the Fourth Reich. Ryan and I talk about Marvel’s marketing of this new Captain America with Hyrda logo’s on all sorts of merchandise.

Batman Begins – Esoteric Analysis – Hollywood Decoded Ep 5 PREVIEW

In 2005, Christopher Nolan rebooted the Batman movies, full of occult imagery depicting the interplay of secret societies and billionaire capitalists as played out against the gothic noir landscape of Gotham City. It is also the tale of our protagonist learning to use fear as a means of changing the world around him. In many ways, Bruce Wayne’s rise as the dark knight is like the ascendance of Gautama Siddhartha as Buddha.
