The year ended with two terrible setbacks for those seeking justice for the Palestinian people.
One was the defeat in the British election of Jeremy Corbyn – a European leader with a unique record of solidarity with Palestinians. He had suffered four years of constant media abuse, recasting his activism as evidence of antisemitism.

Officers obtained information from Samitt's cellphone health application that was synced to his Apple Watch, confirming he lied. Samitt then admitted to intentionally stabbing himself. He has been charged with falsely reporting a felony, which carries a potential sentence of four years.

There seems to be an increasing and dismaying tendency amongst some people who self-identify as left-wing to dismiss mainstream media reporting out of hand.

I’m probably the only American on earth, quite literally, who’s followed every single deployment of the antisemitism smears against Jeremy Corbyn, the Labour Party, and the radical left since the day Corbyn decided to run for Labour leader in 2015. All of them-- click around my site. Fight me.

President Trump signed an executive order to make Jews on college campuses a "protected class" by expanding the legal classification of Jews, in order to shut down criticism.

It was a scandal of the highest caliber. On November 23, the Senate of the University of Cape Town (UCT) in South Africa was practically bullied to reverse an earlier decision that called for the academic boycott of Israel. While the story may seem relevant in South Africa’s political and academic contexts, in reality, it exemplifies the nature of a brewing war between supporters of Palestinian rights and Israeli interests, worldwide.
In fact, the UCT scandal began much earlier.

Trump isn't the most self-aware narcissists on the planet. I don't think he even realizes he's an anti-Semite. He has Jewish friends. He even "let" Ivanka marry a Jew and change her religion. But, given the chance to talk without notes, the anti-semitism has a way of just seeping through anyway. He spoke to several thousand members of Sheldon Adelson's Israeli American Council at the Diplomat in Hollywood, Florida on Saturday night, whining that some American Jews don’t love Israel enough.

President Trump is expected to sign an executive order today purporting to target anti-Semitism on college campuses. However, the measure is understood on all sides as an attempt to outlaw the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement and criticism of Israel more generally.
