anti-semitism

Midnight Meme Of The Day!

by NoahWell, I waited and I waited but I didn't see any mention in the TV coverage of the recent death of the Rev. Billy Graham about his nasty streak of anti-Semitism. Print media, yes, but not on TV. In his life, Graham talked a good game about support for Israel just as many in the far right do, but that was just his contrived public persona. His real feelings came out in the Nixon tapes.

Most Offenses Against Jews in Germany Are Committed by Muslims – But Authorities Blame Right-Wingers

Germany: Federal crime reports and statistics attributed 93% of anti-Semitic offenses in the first half of 2017 to right-wing extremists. However, these numbers are fictional, because the right is blamed by default when the perpetrator is unknown. When Jews were polled, 8% said relatives or acquaintances had been the target of physical attacks over the past year. Another 36% were abused or insulted. Furthermore, 81% of the attacks and 62% of the insults came from Muslims.

Russia’s top diplomat SLAMS anti-Semitism, calling it ‘the most horrible crime against humanity’

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov took part in the opening ceremony of a new exhibition about the Holocaust, the great mass-execution drive of over six million Jews and others deemed by Nazi Germany to be “unfit” for life. The speech was extremely succinct, so much so that we are printing the full translation below along with the video.

New Orleans Becomes First Southern City to Adopt BDS Resolution

The New Orleans City Council passed a resolution backed by Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) advocates, pledging to examine investments and contracts with companies whose practices may violate human rights.
The resolution, which was supported by the New Orleans Palestinian Solidarity Committee, recommends removing corporations that violate the city’s social and ethical values from the city’s list of corporate securities and contractual partners.
New Orleans became the first city in the US south to adopt a pro-BDS resolution.

Anti-BDS Laws and Pro-Israeli Parliament: Zionism Is Winning in Italy

Analysis — A proposed law at the Italian Parliament is set to punish the boycott of Israel. In the past, such an initiative would have been unthinkable. Alas, Italy, a country that had historic sympathies with the Palestinian cause has shifted its politics in a dramatic way in recent years. Most surprisingly, though, the Left is as implicated as the Right in the rush to please Israel, at the expense of Palestinian rights.

Balfour Merrymaking: A Potential PR Disaster For The British Government

The extraordinary program of centenary celebrations in the UK to honor Lord Balfour and his lunatic Declaration — and the British Government’s continuing part in it — is an affront to citizens here and to countless millions abroad. And many a sharp pin is waiting to burst the pretty Balfour balloon being desperately inflated by Israel-firsters at Westminster.

NY Times Publishes Disingenuous Conflation Of Anti-Semitism And Anti-Zionism

(Opinion) — The New York Times recently published an op-ed titled “The Phony Peace Between the Labour Party and Jews” by Howard Jacobson. A novelist and op-ed contributor to the Independent in the UK, Jacobson is relatively unknown. Yet the Times found his allegation of anti-Semitism within the United Kingdom’s Labour Party worthy of the pages of the “newspaper of record.”
