Exposing ‘Democracy NOW!’ as democracy never: deceit to hide the actual dictatorship by the billionaires

Eric Zuesse Along with the ideologically center and right-wing ‘news’-media that everyone knows front for billionaires to deceive Americans to tolerate America’s lousy Government, are dozens of ‘alt-news’ media that fool leftists into thinking that this is a two-party democracy instead of two sides of a one-party actually right-wing — the billionaires’ — fascist dictatorship. The Righteous Outrage of Norman Finkelstein

As I was reading Norman Finkelstein’s new book, I’ll Burn That Bridge When I Get to It!: Heretical Thoughts on Identity Politics, Cancel Culture, and Academic Freedom, I thought early on of Obama’s joke at the expense of Rahm Emanuel: “he’s one of a kind, and thank god he’s one of a kind.” Finkelstein, too, […]

“I’m done with the Left-Right divide – Now it’s humans vs the robotic corporate state!”

via WinterOak Paul Cudenec: Thanks very much for agreeing to this exchange, Keith. It is very encouraging to know that in this age of near-universal deceit and hypocrisy, there are still individuals out there who stand true to their values. First of all, I gather you have a proud family history of fighting for freedom, going …

Democracy Now amplifies State Department propaganda campaign against China behind progressive cover

While Democracy Now hosts US gov’t-funded pundits to spread humanitarian interventionist propaganda about Xinjiang, an analysis by The Grayzone found most of the outlets’s China coverage is sharply negative The U.S. has claimed a humanitarian “Responsibility to Protect” to justify military operations in the name of saving civilian lives from evil dictators. Most notable have been the brutal U.S.-led wars in Libya and Syria which destabilized entire regions in the name of “civilian protection” and “promoting democracy.” These operations relied […]

America-- And The Democratic Party-- Needed Bernie To Stay In The Race

This is a must-watch video, a discussion between Mehdi Hasan and Naomi Klein. They don't get to Bernie staying in the race 'til near the end but the whole half hour is a worthwhile way to spend some time. As for Bernie staying in the race, I very much agree with Naomi Klein and with Alan Minsky, the Executive Director of Progressive Democrats of America who penned this guest post a day before Bernie decided to drop out. I hope you agree as well-- and agree enough to contribute to congressional candidates who are running on Bernie's issues, even if it's just five or two dollars.

Welcome To The COVID Economy

Sure, there's a Trump tweet for occasion; but there's also a George Carlin video for every occasion as well. You may prefer how Carlin explains what we're going through as a society now but economist James Galbraith is slightly less pessimistic. In fact, he wrote a piece for The Nation this week about how to confront the side-effects of the pandemic, namely the economic one. He looks at it square in the eyes and wants you to accept it: "a house of cards has fallen.

Trump Doesn't Deserve All Of The Blame For The Poor U.S. Response To COVID-19-- Just Most Of It

Yesterday a senior member of Congress told me that he's taking the pandemic a lot more seriously than his wife, his friends and, most disturbingly, his colleagues, and speculated that it's because he's "been hearing about this for a lot longer than most people and I think it is going to get real bad in about 10 days. I hope I'm wrong, but fear I'm not. People in DC are not taking it seriously enough. I'm hearing bars and restaurants are still full." Bad enough, but the leadership is doing far too little and far too late.
