HRW: Saudi Arabia’s Airstrikes In Yemen Amount To War Crimes

The Saudi-led coalition waging an air campaign against Yemen’s Houthi rebels in the north is killing children in what amounts to war crimes, an international rights group said Tuesday.Human Rights Watch released a detailed report documenting the deaths of 26 children killed in five airstrikes since June. The group said that despite coalition promises to abide by international law, the airstrikes have failed to do that and it urged the United Nations to place the coalition on its “list of shame,” a blacklist of countries that violate child rights.

24 hours of US airstrikes against the ISIS capital city of Raqqa, in northern Syria, have killed at least 29 civilians and wounded a large number of others, many of them seriously.
The slain include nine women and 14 children.

Saudi Coalition ‘Restricting Fuel’ To Deliver Desperately Needed Yemen Aid

Auke Lootsma, the country director of the UN Development Program said via a video link on Tuesday that the UN has been facing problems delivering aid to Yemen due to the lack of cooperation from the Saudi-led coalition.
The UN operates two flights into Yemen’s Houthi held capital city Sanaa to deliver aid, from Amman and Djibouti.

Civilian Deaths Toll In Afghanistan Hits Record High

The civilian death toll in Afghanistan, some 16 years into the US-led invasion and occupation, continues to rise precipitously, with the most recent figures out of the United Nations showing 1,662 civilians killed in the first half of 2017, the highest civilian toll of the entire war.

Amnesty: US-Backed Coalition Violated International Law In Mosul Killings

new report from human rights group Amnesty International today is harshly critical of the tactics used by Iraq forces and their allies (i.e. the US) in the invasion and occupation of the ISIS-held city of Mosul, saying they flagrantly violated international law and might amount to war crimes.
