Another Lesser-Of-Two-Evils Race: Janz vs Nunes

Goodball by Chip ProserDevin Nunes is certainly one of the worst of TrumpWorld's arch-villains. He's up for reelection in 2 months in California. But not in coastal California. He has a pretty safe Republican seat in the Central Valley. Obama lost the district both times he ran, with around 42% of the vote. Hillary lost to Trump two years ago with around 42% of the vote. The PVI is R+8... not impossible in a wave year, but a very steep climb.

Sad Headline: Republicans Start To Pull Plug On Members

The DCCC and NRCC both have decisions to make about NY-27It must be horrible for Paul Ryan and NRCC chair Steve Stivers to have to tell colleagues that their reelection efforts are hopeless and that the GOP can't flush any more money down the drain trying to rescue them. It's horrible. I mean, they all deserve all the worst, but it's horrible. I'm a progressive; I have empathy.

Yesterday's Polls Today

Not sure what it refers to, but it looks goodThe NY Times/Siena poll showed good news for one of the Blue America candidates. They had Katie Porter with a substantial lead over Trump rubber stamp Mimi Walters, 48% to 43%. Unfortunately, the Times/Siena poll is the least credible polling operation I've seen since Rasumussen and their data is virtually worthless. Still...

How The DCCC Guarantees A Red Wave In 2022-- Take Colorado For Example

A pure lesser-of-two-evils race in CO-06Mike Coffman (R-CO) tries very, very hard to pass himself off as a moderate. It's a farce. Coffman's suburban district wraps around Denver from Littletown and Centennial in the south, Aurora in the east and then Barr Lake and Brighton in the north. The PVI is D+2 and Obama won it both times he ran. Hillary didn't do as well as Obama, but Trump did worse than either McCain or Romney.

A Long Shot Pennsylvania Candidate Worth Betting On

When the Pennsylvania Supreme Court redrew the gerrymandered congressional boundaries, it was of great help to Democrats in most-- but not all-- districts. PA-16 was the south central Pennsylvania district that included most of Lancaster County. Joe Pitts was the longtime anti-Choice fanatic who represented the area. When Pitts retired, Republican Lloyd Smucker beat garden variety Democrat Christina Hartman 168,669 (53.8%) to 134,586 (42.9%).

Florida's Only Bright Spot In November: Andrew Gillum

NextGen America and For Our Future are two PACs financed by Tom Steyer. They spent $1.4 million dollars in the Florida Democratic gubernatorial primary helping Andrew Gillum overcome huge odds to beat two conservative Democrats, Gwen Graham and Philip Levine. But you ain't seen nothin' yet. Yesterday Steyer told the NY Times that he will spend more money in Florida this fall than in any other state.

Are You Ready To See The Democratic Party Turn Its Back On The Working Class Entirely-- Without A Fight?

I can't believe what I'm seeing with my own eyes-- and it's playing out glacially-- but the Democrats and Republicans seem to be switching their essences again. Remember, from history books, when the Democrats were the bad guys defending slavery and the Republicans were the anti-slavery party?
