Google’s Eric Schmidt: NSA Spying ‘Outrageous’
The Wall Street Journal interviewed Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt on the latest news reported by the Washington Post that the NSA has been going behind the back of Google and Yahoo and infiltrating their data centers around the world. The first few questions in the video below address the issue.
A rough transcript, with help from the WSJ article here.

The Language of Tyrants
If there was ever any doubt that the formerly "Great" Britain of today has devolved into a stinkhole of authoritarianism – a proposition I advanced in a recent column – it has been dispelled by the news that the British authorities justified the detainment of David Miranda by claiming that, in transporting materials released by […]

What Cannot Be Said About Iraq
October was Iraq’s deadliest month since April, 2008. In those five and a half years, not only has there been no improvement in Iraq’s security situation, but things have gotten much worse. More than 1,000 people were killed in Iraq last month, the vast majority of them civilians. Another 1,600 were wounded, as car bombs, […]

America’s Top Diplomat Is Lost in Space
Originally posted at TomDispatch. If it’s Tuesday, this must be Belgium – the title of a 1969 romantic comedy – could now fit two intertwined phenomena: the madcap global travels of Secretary of State John Kerry and the nonstop journey of the latest revelations from National Security Agency whistleblower Edward Snowden. In mid-August, there was […]

Meet North Carolina's Newest Democrat: Jason Thigpen
There are no moderates left in the Republican House Caucus. The "best" you'll get is a mainstream conservative willing to stand up to Tea Party extremism from time to time-- or a libertarian who may be good on an important issue or two but is still, essentially, a raving lunatic on everything else. Walter Jones (R-NC) is kind of a mix of the two.

Clarifying Snowden’s ‘Freedom’
A common angle from the mainstream U.S. media is that NSA leaker Edward Snowden will regret his asylum in Russia (rather than life in prison in the U.S.). A quote from ex-CIA analyst Ray McGovern was used in support of that theme, but he has asked the New York Times to clarify it.

Annals of Technological Progress: When did it become assumed that everyone has a laptop computer?
by KenSince this is going to rad like another diatribe against Technological Progress, I'd like to start by stressing that this truly isn't what's meant, and the best way I can do that is by quoting part of a New Yorker "Briefly Noted" review (in the Nov. 4 issue) of a book called Smarter Than You Think by Clive Thompson:

A Manifesto for the Truth
This article by Edward Snowden was published Sunday in Der Spiegel. In a very short time, the world has learned much about unaccountable secret agencies and about sometimes illegal surveillance programs. Sometimes the agencies even deliberately try to hide their surveillance of high officials or the public. While the NSA and GCHQ seem to be […]

Epochal, Generational Challenge: Climate Change vs Willful Government Dysfunction
Nostradamus I'm not but I have a strong suspicion that decades from now, historians will look back on our generation with contempt for not dealing with Climate Change. How does anyone ever make sense out of two obscenely wealthy brothers, sons of a vicious anti-American fascist-- keeping the world from saving itself so they could increase their wealth?

Cut Zionist genocide, feed Americans instead
Press TV – November 2, 2013
Some 47 million poor Americans – one in four children – see their already meager federal food allowances slashed this week.
The cuts amount to $4 billion a year over the next decade.
That $4 billion figure should ring a bell. It is equivalent to the official annual subvention that the US government sends to Israel – courtesy of the American taxpayer. -

LAX False Flag? Security Was Loosened Before Shooting
Remember…. What we look for in these events to ID a “False Flag” — 1) Prior Knowledge 2) STAND DOWN (“lax” security) 3) a Cover Up 4) Cui Bono (Gov Brown just vetoed an assault weapons ban in CA, massive increase in $ecurity aka CONTROL, and a giant distraction to O-Care mishaps, and NSA spying scandals….)
We also find it quite a “coincidence” that the Suspect was ranting against the “NWO” and Fiat Currency (The Federal Reserve) — AND that his name is Paul Ciancia (CIA n CIA)!

Press TV – November 3, 2013
A court in Bahrain has sentenced four anti-regime activists to life in prison and six others to 15-year jail terms, as the country’s prosecutors begin interrogation of opposition leader Sheikh Ali Salman.
Bahraini opposition sources said on Sunday that the activists were handed prison sentences for taking part in anti-regime protests.
Earlier this week, ten protesters were also imprisoned over similar charges. -
Commenting On Jim Willie And The Death of The Dollar
I have written previously that China is co-operating with the Federal Reserve, the US Treasury and the Bank of England to manipulate the price of gold and silver to keep them low to make their currencies look good. Jim Willie did not mention that co-operation but has said this manipulation will be ended soon by market forces. I agree with that. China and Russia have enough gold and sufficient trade surpluses and allies to replace the dollar as the world’s reserve currency as early as January to March of 2014. China is the world’s largest gold producer. China owns gold mines overseas.

In The Republican War Against The Poor, Not All Democrats Are On The Right Side
You probably saw the anti-union, food stamp-cutting governor of Ohio, John Kasich, publicly bitching the other day that his political party is engaged in a merciless war against the poor. “I’m concerned," said Kasich, "about the fact there seems to be a war on the poor. That, if you’re poor, somehow you’re shiftless and lazy.” He may well have had Republican House budget chairman and class warrior Paul Ryan in mind.

Israel Attacks Syria In Attempt To Jump Start World War III
I have not commented the last few days about Israel's unprovoked and heinous attack on a Syrian military facility near the port city of Latakia, but I figured it is better late than ever that I chime in on this insidious attack, and what I believe is the psychos in Israel wanting to get the war on Syria jumpstarted since their attempt to use the fraud chemical weapons attack of a few months back has failed miserably!I came across the following article, through the Russia Today online news site, at www.rt.com, that I knew belonged here at my blog...

Another Great Video Narrated By "Snordelhans" Aka.."Snordster": Game Over! Dollar Dead! Gold $7000 (Part 1)
I have been a bit under the weather the last few days... This year, I was hoping that I could get past my annual attack of Sinusitis... But this year, in spite of my preparations, it came on over the last few days, and I have been laid up trying to fight it. Luckily, this year I have been overloading my body with both Vitamin C and Vitamin D and the effects have been much diminished over what I have experienced over the last few years. I also absolutely REFUSE to go and get any "antibiotics" to fight this attack, because I do know the truth that "antibiotics" do more harm than good....
