If you’ve ever seen prime-time television, you’ll know that for the past decade plus, shows like The Voice, American Idol, and America’s Got Talent have fixated viewers. They’ve also jump-started the recording careers of countless singers and musicians.
But with few exceptions (Kelly Clarkson being notable), these shows have not produced artists who grip the listening public’s imagination.

Social psychology is not a discipline which tends to address issues of political organization. However, many current political issues, including the recent wave of hatred for Congress, can be analyzed in the light of social psychological principles, such as the classic theory of groupthink.

Until this weekend, Blake Farenthold was just another rich right-wing Texas backbencher who's never made a single contribution to anything in Congress. This weekend, news came out that his office paid $84,000 in taxpayer hush fund money to shut up a staffer who he sexually harassed. He was first elected in 2010, a Republican wave elected, against Blue Dog Solomon Ortiz, despite TX-27 then being a 73% district.

A new report from South Africa’s Children’s Institute is raising alarm bells that development of children in the country appears to be lagging behind.
The South African Child Gauge, published in Cape Town every year since 2005, monitors the progress of children in the country with particular emphasis on their rights.
This year, the report warned that violence against children remained widespread in South Africa.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is already widely used by tech firms worldwide for everything from search engines to social media. It is also increasingly being developed for other applications including monitoring systems and decision making. Experimental platforms are already being tested that can review medical records and images to diagnose patients. There are also autonomous AI agents being developed and tested that carry out and defend against cyberattacks.

I always get the odd comment or email ever so often asking WHY I continue to put up articles at this blog concerning what I see as one of the biggest frauds in all of our history... I am of course talking about NASA's infamous and most phoney Apollo Moon Landings of 1968-1972....  A lot of the comments thrown my way ask me WHY I am willing to somehow 'risk my credibility' by continuing to attack NASA and their fraud moon landings...

One way America has been turning into a plutocracy is because the Democratic Party, at least since Pelosi picked Rahm Emanuel to head the DCCC over a decade ago-- has mimicked the Republican Party in recruiting self-funding multimillionaires to run for Congress, all but shutting out working class aspirants for public office.
