This all happened by accident. This isn’t who we are. We didn’t mean it. Honest. By Kit Knightly | OffGuardian | May 9, 2018 Gina Haspel is almost certainly going to be the next director of the CIA. This shouldn’t happen, but it will. For those unfamiliar: Haspel was deputy head of the Agency under […]
(CD) — After presenting herself as “a typical middle-class American” who was brought up with a strong “moral compass” in her opening remarks before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Wednesday, Gina Haspel—President Donald Trump’s pick to head the CIA—would not admit that the agency has ever tortured nor would she say that she believes torture is immoral. President Trump’s statement upon ending US participation in the Iran nuclear agreement was filled with so many objectively false statements that it almost seems the neocons who crafted it were trying to make a fool out of him. The assertion that Iran is allied with al-Qaeda is so brazenly false that it rivals the tallest of the tall tales served up to lie Americans into supporting the disastrous Iraq war. So now with the US out of the deal…what comes next? What will the Europeans do?

It may not be easy to see how your job fits within the long stream of human activity. But it does. Celebrate the newness of it, and celebrate the oldness of it, and then go get it done. Because anything so new and so old probably matters for all of us.
Here is a passage from the interview that Germany’s Das Bild published on 11 January 2016 of Russian President Vladimir Putin:
Ray McGovern was a CIA analyst from 1963 to 1990, and in the 1980s chaired the National Intelligence Estimates and prepared the President’s Daily Brief.
Donald Trump’s decision to pull the U.S. out of the Iranian nuclear deal only strengthens Iranian hardliners, hurts average people and drives up the potential for a devastating war, argue Trita Parsi and Ryan Costello. By Trita Parsi and Ryan…Read more →
(ANTIMEDIA) — A recent report on consumer habits suggests recreational cannabis users rely less on alcohol, over the counter pain medications, and sleep aids. According to the Recreational Cannabis Consumer report conducted by High Yield Insights, a consumer analysis firm, “Recreational consumers report using cannabis products for a variety of reasons, from relaxation to pain relief to sleep […]
Michael Isikoff and David Corn lie so many times in their new book, so that the motive would be puzzling, except that it’s really not, because they lie in accord with the U.S. Government’s own demonstrable lies, which happen also to be basic to today’s CIA — so, Isikoff-Corn’s propagandistic agenda, at least, is clear and consistent — they lie for a clearly identifiable propagandistic purpose, the U.S. Government’s purpose, as will be documented here.
By Craig Murray | May 9, 2018 The United States is so far doing virtually no trade with Iran anyway. In 2017 total US exports to Iran were just 138 million dollars, and total imports a mere 63 million dollars, figures entirely insignificant to the US economy. By contrast, for the EU as a whole […]
For coffee drinkers in California, health warnings on their morning fix will soon be commonplace. Earlier this month, a legal battle involving Starbucks and the Brad Barry Company was brought to a close. Unfortunately, coffee regulation in California is the latest example of pseudoscience influencing public policy.

Readers ask me how they can learn economics, what books to read, what university economics departments to trust. I receive so many requests that it is impossible to reply individually. Here is my answer.
By Jan Oberg | CounterPunch | May 9, 2018 Against all common sense, moral considerations and international law, U.S. President Donald Trump tonight decided to place the United States outside the international so-called community and isolate itself, not Iran. He withdrew the United States from what is one of the most important negotiated peace-oriented agreements […]
(ANTIWAR.COM) — Britain, France, and Germany have issued statements following President Trump’s withdrawal from the P5+1 nuclear deal, warning the US that they must “avoid taking action which obstructs” the rest of the signatories from continuing with the Iran nuclear deal. Iran plans to stay in the deal, as do the other P4+1 nations. This involves substantial […]
Willing believers in lies are willing slaves, because lies are coercion of the mind, as opposed to coercion of the body (slavery by physical violence instead of by mental violence, which is called “lies”); and anyone who willingly complies with any type of coercion when escape from that coercion is available (and this is precisely the situation when the lie has been disproven and exposed and when the truth has already been clearly demonstrated) is a willing slave, of the mental type — a mental slave, instead of a physical slave; and a willing slave, to-boot, a participant in his or her own
This week I am joined by Yuval Laor of the Open Minds Foundation, and one of my co-hosts for Open Minds On Air. We discuss the neoconservative movement, the exploitation of trauma, and Israel. Yuval and I start off the conversation with the breaking news that Donald Trump has decided to pull the US out the Iran Nuclear Deal. We talk about what this means for America and the prospect of war with Iran. Yuval gives us his perspective of this as an Israeli-American, and how the public within Israel is reacting to the news.
This is a note on the Douma gas cylinder valves which are obviously important to the Douma investigation. Eliot Higgins, who has put together the helicopter-dropped chlorine bomb narrative, thinks the casings on the gas cylinders are there to support fins to ensure the cylinder lands on the gas valve (he calls it a “pressure […]
The world graduates are entering is one of confusion and contradictions. And akin to Newton’s Third Law, it seems that every proverb has an equal and opposite proverb. What can we learn from that?
Fake President by Richard SerraI'm not trying to cast a kenahora for November but, let's be real... the House Democrats, despite the DCCC, are going to be the beneficiaries of a big wave. Probably in the Senate races too... but there just aren't enough plausible seats available there for a political earthquake. Tennessee and Texas, though, would make for earthquakes.

We are individuals, but we're also members of society. Economics generally deals with individual action whereas politics deals with the behavior of society as a whole. Economics, as a discipline, seeks to understand, explain, and sometimes predict human behavior. Politics, on the other hand, seeks to control the behavior of society at large. When we talk about freedom, what kind of freedom are we talking about? Is it the ability to decide which goods and services we purchase and from whom without restriction?
Well, everyone is fully aware now that the criminal US government is going to pull out of the "Iranian nuclear deal" that it signed with Iran and other members of the so called "P5+1" group of nations back in 2015... I figure I would give my own perspectives on what just happened and show facts that this "deal" was a fraud in the first place...Lets be clear of one thing here... Iran is not and has NOT been building or developing any "nuclear weapons", period.....
https://southfront.org/regional-security-threats-and-global-chessboard/ The situation in Eastern Ukraine may undergo a dramatic transformation due to the end of the so-called “anti-terrorist operation” (ATO) on April 30, and the subsequent “reformatting” of military
A talk by Gilad Atzmon | May 7, 2018 The other day I learned that the British Zionist pressure group Campaign Against Antisemitsm, an organisation that cares about bigotry against one people only, has launched a new short course. They teach their supporters “how to build bridges with natural allies” so they can fight antisemitsm […]
Looking over the political and economic landscape of what Karl Marx’s ideas wrought, over especially the last one hundred years, one might think that his name and his legacy would be held in the same hatred, contempt, and disgust as Adolf Hitler, the fashioner of German National Socialism (Nazism). But, instead, at a time when we are marking the two hundredth anniversary of Karl Marx’s birth, we see his ideas continuing to have their perverse effect, including in the transmuted form of tribalist “identity politics.”
North worked with the CIA to covertly import weapons to Iran as part of a scheme to illegally fund the CIA-created rebel force in Nicaragua in order to overthrow its government. Oliver North also played a major role in running drugs from Central and South American drug cartels into the US. Additionally, North planned to build a computer data base of everyone who objected to this scheme with the intention of arresting and imprisoning them. [...]
Press TV – May 9, 2018 A commentator believes the reason why President Donald Trump has decided to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal is because Israel which is “dictating” the policy of the United States is not “satisfied” with the agreement and is “sabre-rattling for war.” “It was entirely predictable what Donald Trump was […]

Press TV – May 9, 2018 The US Treasury says licenses held by aerospace giants Boeing and Airbus to sell passenger jets to Iran will be revoked after Washington announced its withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear deal. “The Boeing and (Airbus) licenses will be revoked,” Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said on Tuesday. “Under the original […]
Trump accepted Netanyahu's presentation last week as valid reasons for withdrawing the US from the Iran nuclear deal. Daniel McAdams of the Ron Paul Institute says that the move could be taken by Israel and Saudi Arabia as a green light to attack Iran or even to launch a false-flag attack that would draw the US into war. McAdams says the neocons who surround Trump are running the show. [...]

Rand Paul says that Congress seeks to amend the Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) by handing over their power to declare war to the president. Moreover, Congress could only disapprove of war, which turns the Constitution on its head! Even worse, any resolution of disapproval could be vetoed, meaning two thirds of Congress would need to disapprove of a war, rather than a majority to approve of one. [...]
The last time atmospheric carbon dioxide levels were this high, millions of years ago, the planet was very different. For one, humans didn’t exist. On Wednesday, scientists at the University of California in San Diego confirmed that April’s monthly average atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration breached 410 parts per million for the first time in our history. We know a lot about how to[Read More...]

The bottom line is this: European movies don't fail to get picked up by Netflix because they aren't American, but because they are terrible.
OK, Lets not be fooled any longer... The sickness of that sick and twisted entity called Israel is absolutely pushing very hard these days to get a full scale regional war off and running in the Middle East... These bastards are hell bent on getting that war launched by having the Syrians and their allies retaliate against their criminal strikes into Syria to get their controlled world wide Jew spew media to scream to everyone that "Syria has attacked Israel", and thus brainwash the idiots out there that Syria and/or Iran must be destroyed in "retaliation"...
Mostly uninteresting run-of-the-mill candidates who will make no difference to anyone won their primaries, but not entirely. Let's start with some good news in North Carolina. Durham County has just over 310,000 people, one of North Carolina's most populous. Last night the county elected the first African-American in its history, Clarence Birkhead, who beat the racist incumbent , Mike Andrews. And he beat him in a landslide-- 69-31%.

Russia’s international isolation is nothing but a myth, yet many Western media outlets and leaders continue to promote the idea, ignoring the obvious facts of the matter.
The White House is insisting that Gina Haspel move forward in nomination as director of the Central Intelligence Agency, despite her own concerns that the Senate hearings—expected to begin Wednesday—could turn brutal over her history in the CIA’s torture program. The Trump administration would be smart to heed her concerns.
How many of you have not seen some Hollywood film in which the Normandy landings are the great turning point of the war? “What if the landings had failed,” one often hears? “Oh…, nothing much,” is the appropriate reply. The war would have gone on longer, and the Red Army would have planted its flags on the Normandy beaches coming from the east.
