This is a read-through of the December 9, 2019 Washington Post article outlining some of the more important aspects of the Afghanistan Papers that were recently released via a FOIA request following a 3 year legal battle. It also includes read-throughs of 3 out of the 4 total memos/interviews contained within the article.
WaPo was able to leverage 2000 documents so this is just the tip of the iceberg, but it nonetheless highlights some very interesting items.
Thanks for listening and go check out the "Biting the Bullet" podcast for a more in-depth review of these papers from a group of marines, at least one of whom was on the ground in Afghanistan in a combat role.
