Midnight Meme Of The Day!

by NoahWhenever I encounter Republicans, they mouth a lot of fear-based nonsense in defense of their Putin-loving president and their hate for "others." One of the most common things I hear from such people is "Socialism never works." They don't like their money going to other people, especially "other" kind of people. They say this while approving of the fact that billions and billions of their (and our) taxpayer dollars are going to U.S. and multinational corporations in the form of socialistic subsidy handouts, corporations that, unlike us, pay little or no taxes and have fat cat executives giving themselves millions in bonuses with what essentially amounts to our money. Yes, Republicans love that! The same people have, for decades, also approved of large farms being paid socialist subsidies to not grow food in a country where too many people go hungry. Hey, I'll cut these people some slack. Maybe they raise their own chickens in the basement and grow their own veggies in pots on the windowsill. These people who furtively approve of socialism for some but not for others will never see the irony or their own hypocrisy. Hell, they'll even keep driving on interstate highways built by Eisenhower's socialism and maintained by socialism, using the gas made possible by socialism. They'll even go home and shower using the water systems protected by the socialist funding of their tax dollars; unless they have their own private well in their backyard that is. Jeez, maybe I should just assume that if such people ever need to call the cops or the fire department, they'll be calling their own private police or fire department. I'd hate to think that they'd want the taxpayer funded municipal police or fire departments to come to their assistance!Sometimes, I just ask these people if we should disband the FAA. I always get a blank look in response to that one. That's when the programming kicks in and something about Obama or emails comes out or they start chanting Benghazi Benghazi over and over again. Then I tell them that, throughout human history, their beloved fascism has never worked for long. They don't care, of course, as long as it will, they hope, work for them.
