1 in 5 (US) Cannot Name a Single Element on the Periodic Table

Likely the same here in Canada. But still I was surprised since we’ve all heard so much about Carbon. As a pollutant. But not as an utterly necessary component of LIFE. And, an element on the Periodic Table.Digression: The Science of UsCarbon....

“When combined with oxygen and hydrogen, carbon can form many groups of important biological compounds, including sugars, lignans, chitins, alcohols, fats, aromatic esters, carotenoids and terpenes. With nitrogen it forms alkaloids, and with the addition of sulfur it also forms antibiotics, amino acids, and rubber products. With the addition of phosphorus to these other elements, it forms DNA and RNA, the chemical-code carriers of life, and adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the most important energy-transfer molecule in all living cells.”Nucleotides are biological molecules that form the building blocks of nucleic acids (DNA and RNA). Each nucleotide has three components: a phosphate group, a five-carbon sugar, and a nitrogen-containing base. The phosphate groups and the sugars form the backbone of each strand of DNA or RNA. The phosphate is a component of DNA, RNA, ATP, and also the phospholipids that form all cell membranes. Phosphorus (Lucifer) is just the ‘spark’ in our DNA that makes us fire. When the 666 of Carbon is combined with the elements above and mixed with Lucifer, AKA Phosp-Horus, we get a combination or reaction of chemical elements that forms DNA and RNA. This magical god given chemical-code carrier is the very code for all life, and of course, it is the number of a man;  his number is 6 neutrons, 6 protons, and 6 electrons, Six hundred threescore and six (666). Various chemical elements when combined with Carbon, forms our very material reality, or what some may call, the Matrix.

Let's get back to that periodic table and an apparent lack of any knowledge about it:Digital Journal

'This comes from a poll conducted by the Science History Institute ("Rare Earth Elements And Why They Matter: The Importance of Understanding the Elements of Technology"). When asked how many elements they could name on the periodic table, a majority (59 percent) of those surveyed said they could only name 10 or less; while just over one in five (22 percent) said they could not name a single element.

Periodic Table

The periodic table is a tabular arrangement of the chemical elements. These elements are positioned in periodic trends, sorted by atomic number, electron configuration, or by recurring chemical properties. There are seven rows which form the table, which form the periods. The general pattern is such that metals are located on the left hand-side of the table, and non-metals on the right. The columns are termed groups, consisting of elements with similar chemical behaviors.

Survey headlines

The survey also found that around one quarter of the U.S. population (26 percent) have never heard of rare earth elements. This is interesting in the context that 54 percent of those surveyed said they could not live without Internet, 42 percent could not live without computers; similarly, 41 percent said smartphones, 37 percent said TVs as their 'must haves' - yet each of these electronic devices relies on rare earth elements'
