Chicago Cop Kills Teen Claiming Teen Pulled Gun on Him, but no Gun has been Found

A Chicago cop said he was in fear for his life when he shot and killed a 19-year-old man Wednesday, claiming the man twice pointed a gun at him as he was running away.
But no gun has been recovered as of Friday.
And the Cook County Medical Examiner confirmed that Kajuan Raye was shot in the back as well as multiple times in the stomach.
Police say the sergeant, whose name has not been released, was responding to a “battery in progress”when he spotted Raye, who matched the description of the suspect committing the battery, which indicates there was no victim or battery taking place when he confronted the teen.
Raye then took off running, prompting a foot chase, wihch ended when the cop pulled out his gun and shot him dead.
According to ABC 7:

Chicago police released a statement Thursday saying an Englewood District sergeant was responding to a call of a “battery in progress.” When he got there, he saw a man matching the description of the offender and when he approached, the man ran off, police said.
The sergeant told investigators that the man turned and pointed a gun at him two separate times during the chase and at some point the sergeant fired shots and struck the man. Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said in a statement Thursday afternoon that a weapon has not yet been recovered.

There is also surveillance video showing the cop chasing Raye, but the one posted on WGN-TV does not show the actual shooting or Raye pointing a gun.
The Chicago Police Department has been under investigation by the United States Department of Justice since last year after the released of the video showing the 2014 shooting of Laquan McDonald.
But now that investigation may be shutdown after Donald Trump takes office because he was endorsed by several large police unions in the United States, according to an editorial in the Chicago Sun-Times.
The editorial went on to say that Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions, whom Trump wants to make U.S. Attorney General, “cares little for such investigations and would slam to a close the effort here — after serving up a bland and toothless final report.”
