Philadelphia Police Open Internal Affairs Investigation After Photo of Cops Snoozing in Patrol Car Goes Viral

As the old saying goes, “You snooze, you lose” and for two Philadelphia cops who fell asleep on duty, it might just cost them their jobs.
The incident took place after a passerby snapped a photo of two Philadelphia police officers snoozing away in their patrol car. The image, which was gone viral, set off a firestorm of backlash and has prompted the Philadelphia Police Department to open an investigation into the matter.

Arthur Velazquez was riding his bike in Arizona when two police officers stopped him because he allegedly “fit the description” of a suspect due to the hoodie he was wearing.
As he was being questioned, Velazquez whipped out his cellphone to call his sister, Vanessa, because he felt unsafe around the officers who stopped him.
Mesa police ended up beating him, claiming they were in fear for their lives.

Oklahoma Woman Plows Car into Cop Car, Saying: “I’m God, Bitch”

Believing she was God, a woman drove at full speed towards a police officer, who fired off two rounds before a dramatic collision that was captured on body cam.
“I’m God, bitch,” said Stacey Ann Bunsey after popping her head out from the window of her overturned car. “Welcome to hell.”
“OK, but come on out,” Sand Springs police officers  urged.
The fact that nobody was seriously injured in the incident suggests that God, indeed, was looking over them that day.
But Bunsey was unable to use her God credentials to avoid arrest last Friday afternoon.

Louisiana Cops Shoots Family Dog, Refuse to Release Body Cam Footage

A black Labrador named Max belonging to a family in Lafayette, Louisiana was shot and killed by a city marshal, who was looking to arrest its owner for outstanding traffic warrants.
Now the family may be cited by animal control for not having the dog on a leash.
The incident took place Monday when the marshal walked up to a home to arrest Bryant Marks for driving a vehicle with a suspended license and for a hit-and-run accident.
As he walked up to the door, Max came out from beneath the home and ran towards the marshal, which was when he was shot dead.

Illinois Student Sues Campus Police Over Attack for Smoking Outside Caught on Video

College of DuPage student Jaclyn Pazera was on campus to hit the books and learn; but in a catastrophic turn of events, she was instead booked into the county jail on charges of trespassing, obstructing and resisting.
Now, she has filed a lawsuit against the Illinois college’s campus police, citing excessive force and civil rights violations. The campus police fall under the jurisdiction of the college. Reports show that Pazera’s wrists and shoulders were injured during her arrest.

Alabama Cops Attack Students With Batons and Tasers Over Noise Complaint

Responding to a noise complaint, Alabama police entered an apartment filled with college students early Sunday morning and began pulling them out, striking them with batons and shooting them with tasers in a chaotic scene that did nothing to reduce the noise level.
At least two videos are now making the rounds on social media, one recorded from inside the apartment, another from outside.
The video recorded from inside the apartment begins with a cop holding on to a student’s wrist, trying to pull him outside while the students asks him to let go.

Illinois Bouncer Attacks Man, Destroys Two Cameras, DeKalb Cops Do Nothing

It was closing time at Molly’s Eatery and Drinkery in DeKalb when Ryan Scott was ushered out of the bar early along with a multitude of other weekend patrons early Saturday morning.
Moments after stepping into the Illinois chill, the 28-year-old man realized he had forgotten to close his tab, so he stood outside the gate and called to the waitress, who stepped outside and handed him his receipt.
That was when he realized the bar had added an extra $7.80 to his $38 tab, essentially a 20 percent tip.

Austin Police Beat Up Men for Jaywalking in Texas (Updated)

Two men had just crossed the street when they were rushed by several Austin police officers who shoved them against a wall, punching and kneeing them while telling them to stop resisting.
When asked what crime had the men committed, one of the cops looked up and said, “crossed against the light.”
Yes, that heinous crime of jaywalking, which is taken very serious in Austin as we learned last year when the city made international news after police beat up a jogger for jaywalking.

Two Mistrials in Two Trials for Alabama Cop Who Left Man from India Paralyzed

Officer Eric Parker of the Madison Police Department in Alabama is still a free man – yet again.
For the second time in two months, his trial for beating a man from India unable to understand English resulted in a mistrial.
In the first trial in September; the judge ordered a mistrial after a jury could not agree on a verdict, NBC reports.
