Afghanistan’s official Ambassador to Russia, Abdul Qayyum Kochai has stated that he welcomes Russia’s role in mediating a diplomatic peace process in his country.
Abdul Qayyum Kochai said,

“We would like Russia to help the Afghans as well in order to achieve safety and peace in Afghanistan … We want the relations with Russia to be very good, despite the fact that there have been some problems throughout history”.

A large explosion has occurred at the Imam Zaman Mosque in Kabul, Afghanistan’s capital. The blast was followed by reports of intense gunfire.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has voiced his country’s disapproval of Donald Trump’s military surge in Afghanistan.
Lavrov has stated,

“The main emphasis in the new strategy, which was announced by Washington, is made on settlement through use of force. We believe that it’s a dead-end approach”.

He continued,

News has emerged of the nature of Donald Trump’s long meeting with Defence Secretary James “Mad Dog” Mattis and National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster, in which Trump discussed with his top Generals, the efficacy of a troop surge in Afghanistan.

There is no such thing as a good war, but there are occasionally such things as just wars. The Syrian conflict is a variation on the second theme. Syria prior to 2011 was a country at peace, it was a country that was stable, it was a country that was placid. Of course, the Syria of 2011 was imperfect and one only needed to listen to the speeches within the People’s Council of Syria to realise that.

MOSCOW, (Sputnik) – The Taliban terrorist group (outlawed in Russia) has released an open letter to US President Donald Trump, in which the groups calls for a complete withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan, saying they provoke ongoing violence in the country, local media reported Tuesday.
In their letter, the group has claimed that the ongoing violence in Afghanistan had a direct link to the presence of US forces, calling them “occupation forces” that provoke war in Afghanistan used by everyone in their own interest, Khaama Press news agency reported.
