The theory for the motive of the shooting is that Paddock was an aging man with health and financial problems who wanted to gain infamy. It is a mystery as to why local police waited over an hour to storm Paddock's room. There were reports of shooting from multiple casinos.

A former CIA officer revealed more strange circumstances that have been left unexplained and un-investigated. For example, Brian Hodges claimed he was in the room next door to Paddock's, yet he has never been questioned andhe is linked to Paddock's girlfriend.
