Reopen Business

Life on the island has returned to 'near normal' by fully reopening businesses, restaurants and pubs, reopening schools, scrapping the mask requirement and ending social distancing.

No governor can make a law, no health officer can make a law, and no code enforcer can make a law. Governor Newsom has admitted that his edicts are just 'guidelines'. He is trying to make the restaurants become the enforcers of his policies, because he lacks the authority to do so.

A business may lose its license only if it violates a law or a state regulation. But there is no law that requires citizens to wear a mask in business establishments. All that exists is an edict from the Governor, who has no authority over any of these matters.

Carlos Zapata, a mayor in Shasta County, told the county leaders that families are starving and the restrictions on business are causing good law-abiding citizens to become revolutionaries who will go to war against them if they continue. He said six veterans in the area committed suicide after losing their jobs.

Governor Pritzker amended rules so business owners can be charged with a Class-A misdemeanor for violating his closure order and face a fine of $2,500 and one year in prison. The Joint Committee on Administrative Rules is facing pressure to strike down Pritzker’s new rule and will meet Wednesday morning.
