Puerto Rico is 5,328 square miles with a population of 3.2 million (Americans). Greenland is melting but the area is 836,300 square miles with around 56,000 people, less than the 70,000 who live in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico's 7th largest city. Greenland's biggest town, Nuuk, has 18,000 people. There are 140 Americans station in Greenland at the Thule Air Base.Former Homeland Security chief of staff Miles Taylor is getting really famous. Two brothers, age 15 and 16, repeatedly punched John Weed in the head and knocked him out with a sucker punch before spitting on him while he laid on the ground dying. The 15-year-old, who reportedly delivered the fatal blow, was tried as a juvenile and pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

In October 2019, Ecuador’s president Lenin Moreno announced a new round of austerity measures. As the cost of gasoline, diesel, transport and food skyrocketed in the wake of his announcement, the national strike quickly transformed into mass protests. I was in the heart of Ecuador’s capital, Quito, as riot police, tanks, untold amounts of tear gas, and the full gamut of the security apparatus was deployed against demonstrators.

The news-media are hiding Joe Biden’s racism, his racism which Ted Kennedy and the NAACP had condemned, and which Jesse Helms had praised. Should the news-media be prosecuted for trying to rig the 2020 U.S. Presidential election in favor of a Biden victory, far worse than any “Russiagate” against Hillary Clinton’s campaign in 2016? Of course, Donald Trump is just as bad as is Biden, but the news-media report his evilness; they don’t report Biden’s evilness. So, I will do it here.

We’re now emerging from an intense period of racial justice protests that began after the killing of George Floyd. It was exhilarating and pride-inspiring to witness the multitudes in the Lehigh Valley (Pa) who “took it to the streets” on behalf of racial equality, especially the waves of Black and white young people. According to the Pew Research Center, some 15 million adults participated in the protests which makes it the largest movement in American history.

In a world where nationalism and social division is increasing, bigotry growing, are the words refugee, asylum seeker, migrant worker, derogatory labels triggering prejudice and intolerance? Such terms create an image of ‘the other’, separate and different, strengthening tribalism, feeding suspicion, our common humanity denied.

If the Portland Police decide they need to start killing protesters, the mayor has just justified it in advance.
