The state of Michigan has given a preliminary go-ahead for food and beverage maker Nestle to nearly triple the amount of groundwater it will pump from beneath the state, to be bottled and sold at its Ice Mountain plant, approximately 120 miles from Flint. [1]

Nestle Waters North America asked the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) to allow the company to increase pumping from 150 to 400 gallons-per-minute at 1 of its production wells north of Evart.

You can’t smoke cigarettes in a bar, but if some marijuana advocates in Colorado get their way, you’ll soon be able to vape cannabis in one. [1]
In November, Denver, Colorado residents will vote on an initiative that would allow businesses to obtain city permits to create designated areas for using marijuana.
Kayvan S.T. Khalatbari, the lead proponent of the initiative, said in a statement:

The Massachusetts Hospital Association (MHA) unanimously voted last week against the legalization of marijuana for recreational use, adding to a growing number of opponents to a proposed ballot measure that would decriminalize cannabis in the state.

Pennsylvania’s health and education departments announced Thursday that they will propose that students must have all of their vaccines within 5 days of starting school or provide a medical certificate saying when they would receive the shots. [1]
