He sure isn't going to get elected by voters in Louisville or Lexington.In his last reelection campaign, 2014, his opponent was Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes. She ran a good campaign and won 10 of the state's 120 counties. He beat her 806,787 (56.2%) to 584,698 (40.7%) despite quite a bit of voter apathy. Six years earlier he had beaten Democrat Bruce Lunsford 953,816 (53%) to 847,005 (47%).

Kelly Knight Craft, the US envoy to Canada, has been nominated by President Trump to be the next US representative to the UN. The couple’s coal wealth could present a conflict of interest for Kelly Craft at the UN, where climate change is a major thrust of its work. 
It’s easy to figure out why Donald Trump picked Kelly Knight Craft to be his ambassador to the United Nations.

McConnell may look like a turtle but he's a lot smarter than one-- albeit, smart in the service of Evil. He realizes that reform is his-- and his party's-- implacable enemy. He is very aware, painfully so, that when more people vote, more Republicans lose. H.R.

On Thursday McConnell finally allowed a clean bill to open the government to be voted on, but first he presented Trump's frankenstein version of a bill that included nearly $6 billion for a small piece of his vanity wall, a vanity wall that will make many of his criminal cronies much wealthier. The only Democrat to vote for the Trump/McConnell bill was, predictably, Joe Manchin.

No hearings.

Steve King's Iowa district is very, very rural and very, very red. The PVI is R+11 and Trump beat Hillary there 60.9% to 33.5%, significantly outpolling both McCain (50.2%) and Romney (53.4%). Usually King wins in a walk and doesn't even campaign much. This past November, though, he nearly lost, first time candidate and progressive baseball player J.D. Scholten holding him to 50.4%, his smallest win number ever. If only the DCCC hadn't decided J.D.
