We're backing Bernie Sanders at this blog and we urge you to caucus for him tomorrow if you live in Iowa and to contribute what you can to his campaign and to the campaigns of the congressional candidates who have endorsed him and who are running on his progressive platform.

His wife, a Republican campaign donor who opportunistically switched party registration, is running against tried and tested progressive, former Iowa House Speaker Pat Murphy.

There's also this wing of the Democratic PartyEastern Iowa's Gazette has been around since 1883 and is a major source of news for Cedar Rapids and Iowa City, strongly Democratic Party areas of Iowa.

Jeb's SuperPAC, Right to Rise, made the 30 second ad above. I don't know what it cost them to make it or to run it but I do know one thing: it was a complete waste of money no matter what it cost and didn't persuade a single voter... unless it persuaded them to not vote for Jeb. He-- and his donors-- are being taken for a ride by consultants who are getting rich while Jeb's campaign flounders. And it isn't just poor Jeb... even if he is getting the worst of it. Total political ad spending for the presidential campaigns are through the roof. A week from today Iowans will caucus.

The picture NY Times in-house conservative, David Brooks, conjured up of Ted Cruz is truly ugly. It's hard to imagine anyone reading it and accepting Brooks' reporting and then ever vote for Cruz for anything, let along president. What a horrible, horrible person, the antithesis of all of the teachings of Jesus rolled up into one sad, desperate little man, driven crazy by a psychotic father and with an innate need to dominate others.
