Leader of Donetsk People’s Republic killed in explosion

RT and TASS reported on August 31 that the Aleksandr Zacharchenko, the leader of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, was killed in an explosion that took place in a cafe in Central Donetsk city. The explosion also injured several other top officials who were with him. RT continues in their report:

Russia submits draft resolution on sending UN Peacekeepers to Donbass

Russia has formally submitted a draft resolution to the United Nations which calls for the deployment of UN peacekeepers to Donbass in order to shield officials from the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) from violence.
Austria which currently chairs the OSCE welcomed the Russian proposals, according to an official cited by TASS.

Ukraine imports expensive US coal rather than accept the independence of Donbass

In the winter of 2017, the Ukrainian regime following the lead of neo-Nazi radicals, decided to ban all imports of coal from Donbass, one of the most abundantly coal rich places in the world. To add to the troubles, existing coal burning power stations in Ukraine had been designed specifically with Donbass coal in mind as Donbass coal has certain particles which make it unique to other varieties around the world.

LPR spokesman Andrei Marochko added:

“The Ukrainian side continues to violate the Minsk agreements in respect of the placement of banned weapons. So, in the area of Novotoshkivske settlement, the enemy has placed positions of two mortar batteries, as well as a caponier with an infantry fighting vehicle of the 58th brigade of the Ukrainian forces.”
