Glenn Greenwald: Why Did NBC Pull Veteran Reporter After He Witnessed Israeli Killing of Gaza Kids?

BEIRUT: NBC’s reporter Ayman Mohyeldin, whose removal by the network from Gaza had raised questions and criticism, will go back to report from the city he knows well, an NBC statement said Friday.

“As with any news team in conflict zones, deployments are constantly reassessed,” said the statement issued on the network’s website.

CNN: Palestinians Want to Die

 

 CNN, Jake Tapper interviews Diana Buttu, a former advisor to the PLO.  After failing to persuade her of Israel’s complete innocence, he tells her that Hamas is instructing women and children to remain in their homes to die as Israel bombs them. She responds by expressing doubt that people want to die.  Oh no, says Tapper, Palestinians live in a culture of martyrdom; they want to die.

Monday morning, Nasiruddin Haqqani, the son of the founder of Afghanistan's Haqqani network-- and that group's chief financial officer-- was shot dead in Islamabad by gunmen on a motorcycle. He was definitely on a worldwide "most wanted" list and the only surprise about his violent end is that he wasn't killed in a drone strike. His younger brother, Sirajuddin, heads the Haqqani network which is connected to the Taliban and has been one of the most effective groups against the U.S.
