Mainstream Media Finally Acknowledging Need for Citizen Journalists

To those of us that use critical thinking skills, it’s no secret that the corporate media lies. Mainstream media has, for years, been using their influence to sway elections, push products, and even help get murderers off. Well as long as those murderers are wearing badges, that is.
This “brainwash the masses” mindset  has created a rift in society that has spawned a new type of media. These citizen journalists have emerged as an “alternate” media that has gained tons of credibility by reporting the real stories with videos to back up claims of abuses.

Connecticut Cop Threatens to Arrest Man for “Distracting the Traffic” for Holding Up Sign Warning Drivers of DUI Checkpoint

Standing on a public sidewalk on the side of the road, holding a sign warning drivers about an upcoming DUI police checkpoint, a Connecticut man was threatened with arrest Sunday, accused of “distracting the traffic.”
However, it was Hartford Police Sergeant Reggie Early who was blocking traffic with his patrol car as he threatened Michael Picard with arrest on a non-existent charge.
All because the 27-year-old man held a sign that said, “Cops ahead. Keep calm and remain silent.”
But at least he didn’t follow through on his threat.

Hawaii Man Sues Police for Beating Him on Beach in Viral Video Incident

A Hawaii man who was beaten by a cop on a beach for chanting next to a seal he believed to be injured filed a lawsuit last week.
The incident, which took place in 2014, was captured on video by witnesses who called the cops on the man, thinking he was harassing the seal.
But the man, Jamie Kalani Rice, said he was only trying to help the seal by sharing his mana or energy.
The video shows a Honolulu police officer named Ming Wang approaching Rice, exchanging some words and pulling out a baton to begin swinging it.

Smartphone App Allows Citizens to Depend on Each Other for Emergency Services Instead of Police

We live in a world where we are forced to pay for services that are unreliable, corrupt and brutal. We are taught from a young age that you pick up the phone and dial 911 at the first sign of trouble.
But sadly, we increasingly see the responders to our pleas for help showing up and making matters worse.
I’ve been there a number of times myself. I see something bad that is  too much for me to handle. I pull out my phone to dial 911 and then stop, thinking police will just make matters worse, something we all should think about before he make that call.

A disturbing video emerged Friday showing two Los Angeles sheriff’s deputies killing a man after they had chased him for riding a bicycle while wearing headphones.

Missouri Cop Fired for Pointing Weapon at Protesters Now Claims Life is “Ruined”

The Missouri cop who pointed an assault rifle at demonstrators during the 2014 Ferguson protests, telling them “I will fucking kill you,” only to end up fired after the video went viral, is now whining that his life is “ruined.”
But only because he is at risk of losing his law enforcement license.
Not because he is facing any actual criminal charges, which would be the case had he not been granted Blue Privilege.

Dallas Police Speaks With Forked Tongue When it Comes to the Right to Record

In April 2014, the Dallas Police Department’s top-rank leadership made it clear they support the concept of the right to photograph and record in public.
But the department’s Internal Affairs Division, the Dallas Police Association (DPA), and a small but troublesome and aggressive minority of officers on the street have adopted a completely different and opposing position whereby they do all they can to protect officers who interfere with photographers, no matter how damning the evidence.

Texas Deputy Arrests PINAC Correspondent for Video Recording Shell Refinery from Public Right-of-Way (Updated II)

A PINAC correspondent working on a story about a man who was arrested Monday for video recording outside a Shell refinery was arrested himself Tuesday for recording outside the same refinery.
Both were on public property but it appears as if the Harris County sheriff’s deputies who arrested them were off-duty and working security for the Shell refinery in Deer Park, an industrial municipality outside Houston. Essentially hired goons.
