This is the third consecutive quarter that China meets its target of 6.5 to 7 per cent GDP growth this year.

Russian, US military experts to meet on Syria

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has told local media that military experts from his country will meet with their US counterparts in Geneva to work out how to separate Syrian rebels – deemed legitimate – from terrorist groups such as Al Nusra Front.
The meeting on Wednesday has been a key Russian demand since a ceasefire was brokered – and then collapsed – in early September.

Beijing launches manned spacecraft Shenzhou-11

The spacecraft will dock with orbiting space lab Tiangong-2 within two days, and the astronauts will stay in the space lab for 30 days [Xinhua]
China has launched a two-man space mission called Shenzhou 11, officials with the space program said on Monday.
This brings the country closer to its target of setting up a permanent manned space station by 2022.

BRICS Bank to lend $2.5 billion in 2017

Goa Declaration: BRICS condemn attacks on India

Zuma seeks more Chinese investments

China and South Africa have maintained strong trade and political ties for decades [Xinhua][Xinhua]
Chinese President Xi Jinping and his South African counterpart Jacob Zuma met Saturday on the sidelines of the 8th BRICS Summit in Goa, India and pledged to work within the bloc to boost bilateral cooperation between their two countries.
Xi said he was happy with the pace of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries but also added that he would work with Zuma to enhance their relationship.

Putin, Modi meet in Goa, announce defence, energy deals
