GENEVA (Sputnik) – Russia is noting in Syria an active regrouping of the forces of Nusra Front (terrorist group banned in Russia), which is trying to take over control of main border crossings with Turkey, a military-diplomatic source in the International Syria Support Group task forces told Sputnik on Wednesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russia is ready to provide comprehensive support for Iraq in boosting its military potential and equipping its army with the latest military equipment, Russian ambassador to Iraq Maksim Maksimov told Sputnik.

The hint came in an editorial in Global Times, a newspaper owned by the Chinese Communist Party’s official newspaper the People’s Daily, which is often used by the Chinese government to express opinions it holds but which it feels it might be too provocative to air officially.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Chief of the Russian General Staff Gen. Valery Gerasimov and Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Josef Dunford discussed in phone talks on Tuesday anti-terrorism efforts in Syria and Iraq, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
