Who Wants War? Who Is Still Part Of Richard Nixon's Tribe?

Although many NeoCons are tiptoeing around it, Cheney isn't. They all want to send American troops tonight for corporate profits in Iraq again but only Cheney is actually saying it on TV-- although 206 Republicans and 44 Democrats voted for it on June 19 when they opposed Barbara Lee's amendment to prohibit the use of funds for newer military operations in Iraq. 142 Democrats voted for the amendment and there were only 23 Republicans with the good sense (or guts) to cross the aisle and vote with them.

Cheney, Wolfowitz, Kagan And Other Of America's Enemies Are Emboldened And On The March

I don't know anyone who was a Saddam Hussein fan… but I've never been to Iraq. In fact, I always avoided the place. Even in the '60s and '70s when I traveled a lot in that part of the world, I did all I could to avoid Iraq, spending my time lolling around Trabzon, Ezurum and Van in Turkey (much of it, without any real paved roads, having just been opened to foreigners for the first time since 1925) and Tabriz and Zanjan in Iran, to avoid the dubious allure of Baghdad (where the Ba'athists had just taken over).

When Bill Moyers Refers To "The Lap Dogs In Congress" He Isn't Just Talking About Jeb Hensarling And The Republicans

The House passed Dodd-Frank on Decenmber 11, 2009 without a single Republican vote. As always, the Republicans were for the crooked banksters-- but so were 26 Democrats. Most of those Democrats have since been fired by the voters-- or forced to resign-- and only 6 remain in Congress today:

Plutocracy And A Dystopian Future For Our Children

The wave of super-charged economic inequality-- spurred by uncontrolled greed and avarice and abetted by sold out politicians-- isn't just drowning the American middle class. This week, the British are being told to get ready for a grim future, with no chance for the vast population to "claw their way out of a hand-to-mouth existence."

Humans Fighting Back Against Climate Change

At some point it will be too late. Earth may become uninhabitable. I can imagine Koch grandchildren firing up their spaceships and taking off for the next planet they'll destroy. Maybe they'll take along the conservative legislators and political entrepreneurs who aided and abetted them along for the ride. I mean, even when they get to Planet X, someone has to wash the dishes and dig the ditches. The rest of us? We'll curse our grandparents for not having saved us when they could of. I keep a list of Koch products handy and go out of my way to avoid them when I shop.

DC 's Conservative Consensus Has Us On The Road To Patrimonial Capitalism

Paul Krugman to Bill Moyers: "We’re seeing inequalities that will be transferred across generations. We are becoming very much the kind of society we imagined we’re nothing like." Wednesday was my sister's birthday. In her honor, we ran a post, Oligarchy, It's Never Too Late For Americans To Recapture Democracy.

Bill Maher and Bill Moyers Give Fox News Zombies Heart Attacks Over Ronnie Raygun

That Bill Maher video above is one of the best explanations-- especially for young people who didn't live through it-- of the RRR-- the Real Ronald Reagan. We sure don't hear it from Obama… and never will. Tonight, Bill Moyers will tackle the same subject from a more… genteel, less vituperative perspective.

America’s Deep State

Bill Moyers of Moyers & Company, on February 21, 2014, interviewed Mike Lofgren, a former GOP congressional staff member, who, during the interview, confirmed what many Americans already suspect: America has become a corporate state, or to use Lofgren’s words, a “Deep State,” which he defines as a hybrid of corporate America and the national security state.
